Michael Cohn & Molly Stone


This respected husband and wife team has been blowing glass together for over 20 years. They both make their own individual pieces but the larger portion is a collaborative effort. These pieces are signed Cohn-Stone.

Michael Cohn
The artist was born in 1949 in Long Beach, CA. He received a B.A. in Art from University of California, Berkeley and also attended Long Beach City College. He received 2 National Endowment for the Arts fellowships and has done extensive lecturing at major institutions worldwide. He has also performed numerous one man exhibitions in the U.S. as well as internationally.

Michael Cohn’s work is currently in numerous public and private collections worldwide. A partial list of these are as follows:

Molly Stone
Stone was born in 1950. She received her B.A. in Art from University of California, Berkeley in 1975 and previous to that attended Columbus College of Art in Columbus, Ohio. Her education continued at Orrefors Glaskolan in Orrefors, Sweden (1979) and both Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA and California College of Arts and Crafts in 1978. She received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in 1981 and the Niche Award for outstanding glass in 1994.

Her work is included in the permanent collection of the Corning Museum of Glass, Detroit Institute of Art, The Tampa Museum of Art, the Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Art in Racine, WI. and the First Contemporary Glass Museum in Alcorcon, Madrid, Spain. She has been featured in numerous exhibitions nationally and internationally dating back to 1980. She also designed an ornament for the White House Christmas tree in 1997 and has had multiple representations in Art tours in Japan over the years.
